A Modified DC Power Electronic Transformer Based on Full-Bridge Converter Series Connection PROJECT TITLE : A Modified DC Power Electronic Transformer Based on Series Connection of Full-Bridge Converters ABSTRACT: dc Power Electronic transformer (DCPET) topology for locomotive, ac/dc hybrid grid, dc distribution grid, and other medium-voltage and high-power applications is proposed in this work. With fewer power semiconductor devices and high-frequency isolation transformers, the proposed DCPET topology has a higher power density and more reliability. When some dc-dc modules fail, further reliability can be provided by fault handling or redundancy design. Control Systems can be made simpler and more stable by eliminating input voltage sharing controls. As a result, switching frequencies can be increased and power densities can be improved by ensuring that all switches are soft-switched. In this study, the suggested DCPET's principle, evolution, and control are discussed in detail. A working prototype of the suggested DCPET has been constructed, and the experimental findings show that the topology is both valid and preferable. Did you like this research project?
