Authentication Schemes for Session Passwords using Color and Images - 2011 ABSTRACT: Textual passwords are the foremost common technique used for authentication. But textual passwords are vulnerable to eves dropping, dictionary attacks, social engineering and shoulder surfing. Graphical passwords are introduced as different techniques to textual passwords. Most of the graphical schemes are liable to shoulder surfing. To address this drawback, text will be combined with images or colours to get session passwords for authentication. Session passwords can be used solely once and every time a replacement password is generated. In this paper, two techniques are proposed to come up with session passwords using text and colors that are immune to shoulder surfing. These methods are appropriate for Personal Digital Assistants.
