Effects of N2/O2 Additives on the Repeatability of the Dynamics of an Atmospheric-Pressure He Plasma Jet PROJECT TITLE :Effects of N2/O2 Additives on the Repeatability of the Dynamics of an Atmospheric-Pressure He Plasma JetABSTRACT:To better perceive the role of residual charges in the repeatability of an atmospheric-pressure He plasma plume, the results of N2/O2 additives on the minimum pulse repetition frequency fmin to sustain the repeatable discharge are investigated for the primary time. 1st, when the share of N2 gas in He/N2 mixture increases from 0% to one.7p.c, fmin increases from 130 to 90zero Hz. Whereas when the proportion of O2 gas in He/O2 mixture will increase from 0.38% to 1.seven%, fmin keeps virtually constant at 300 Hz. Second, a charge assortment system is employed to live the residual charge density. The results show that the residual charge density within the plasma core for He/(one%) O2 mixture is abundant on top of that for He/(1%) N2 mixture. Furthermore, the simulation results on the time-resolved distribution of residual charge density show that the residual electron density just before the following voltage pulse decreases with the rise in N2 share, whereas the residual O2- ion density is independent on the O2 share. Finally, the residual charge density of 109 cm-three or higher is required for the repeatable discharge mode. Did you like this research project?
