Modeling and Stability Analysis of Droop Controlled Islanded DC Microgrids PROJECT TITLE : Modeling and Stability Analysis of Islanded DC Microgrids under Droop Control ABSTRACT: Stability is dependent on the control method used for each mode of operation of the dc microgrid (MG). It is the primary approach for maintaining bus voltage stability during island operation when there is no connection between sources. It is proven in this study that the voltage stability of dc Power Systems with nonlinear and active loads, such as constant-power loads, is affected by droop implementation. All the parallel sources and transmission lines are represented by an ideal voltage source coupled to an equivalent resistance and inductance. A nonlinear stability analysis may be performed due to the reduced number of differential equations in this approximate model. It also gives analytical stability conditions as a function of the model parameters, which leads to a design guideline for building reliable (MGs) based on safe operating regions (SOR).
