Cloud Message Queueing and Notification: Challenges and Opportunities - 2018
ABSTRACT:
The current mobile app development apply, like other massive-scale network-centric software projects, is characterised by the utilization of event notification facilities supporting the exchange of effective and economical knowledge flows between the application's front-end, sometimes located on customer's terminal equipment, and the rear-end services obtainable inside the cloud. In order to avoid the requirement of putting in place the notification infrastructure from scratch for any new application, several cloud service providers and mobile system manufacturing companies offer cloud-based messaging solutions. Such solutions, however, are usually characterized by vulnerabilities that can be exploited to compromise the mobile applications' security by violating the privacy and integrity in their operations. During this work, we analyze these problems and posit the potential for the blockchain technology to mitigate such threats.
