Provisioning of Deadline-Driven Requests With Flexible Transmission Rates in WDM Mesh Networks - 2010 ABSTRACT: With the increasing diversity of applications supported over optical networks, new service guarantees must be offered to network customers. Among the emerging information-intensive applications are those which need their knowledge to be transferred before a predefined deadline. We call these deadline-driven requests (DDRs). In such applications, knowledge-transfer finish time (that must be accomplished before the deadline) is that the key service guarantee that the client wants. In reality, the amount of bandwidth allotted to transfer a call for participation is not a priority for the customer so long as its service deadline is met. Did you like this research project?
