PROJECT TITLE :

Magnetizing Curve Identification for Induction Motors at Standstill Without Assumption of Analytical Curve Functions

ABSTRACT:

It is necessary to obtain accurate data concerning the magnetizing curve of an induction machine thus that the magnetizing inductance can be updated in step with totally different flux references for either potency optimization or field weakening management. This paper proposes a computational saving technique to obtain a one-to-one correspondence magnetizing curve while not the requirement for standard curve-fitting strategies, which need the assumption of express analytical curve functions. A close comparison between the proposed method and the conventional curve-fitting methodology has been done. It shows great accuracy improvements of this proposed methodology. The identification is simple to implement with high precision whereas maintaining the motor at standstill. No additional sensor devices are required except the sensors carried by the drive itself. This proposed methodology is verified by simulation. More experimental results of this methodology are utilised during a real control strategy with a 2.2-kW fifty-Hz 4-pole induction motor to verify its validity and feasibility.
