An Innovative Method of Teaching Electronic System Design With PSoC PROJECT TITLE : An Innovative Method of Teaching Electronic System Design With PSoC ABSTRACT : Programmable system-on-chip (PSoC), that provides a microprocessor and programmable analog and digital peripheral functions in a very single chip, is terribly convenient for mixed-signal electronic system design. This paper presents the experience of teaching up to date mixed-signal electronic system style with PSoC in the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. An innovative teaching method was adopted, which involved planning a flexible experimental board, designing four experiments of various levels and with completely different teaching objectives, writing a textbook, and instructing students in out-of-category activities. This paper describes these well, still because the courses in that the strategy was used, with their course objectives and contents. Finally, the course evaluation results and the planning prizes for innovation won by students and teaching awards won by lecturers are given, that confirm that this innovative teaching methodology is effective.
