Improving a Computer Networks Course Using the Partov Simulation Engine

ABSTRACT :

Computer networks courses are onerous to show as there are a number of details within the protocols and techniques concerned that are tough to know. Using programming assignments as half of the course helps students to obtain a better understanding and gain additional insight into the theoretical lectures. In this paper, the Partov simulation engine and expertise using this engine in an exceedingly laptop networks course are discussed. Since 2009, varied programming assignments primarily based on the Partov system are set to assist students in their learning method. Student feedback has been terribly good; this has been quantified in 2 surveys in that a majority of scholars expressed their satisfaction with this approach.
