PROJECT TITLE :

Mechanism for enhanced wavelength tuning in gain-levered InP quantum dot lasers

ABSTRACT:

Peak gain wavelength tuning via the gain-lever result is demonstrated in segmented contact InP quantum dot Fabry-Perot lasers. A tuning vary of vi.five ± 0.1 nm was recorded within the lasing spectra of a one.nine mm long broad area device operating at twenty two°C. The authors clarify the character of the tuning mechanism and determine the crucial material and device parameters that determine the bounds of the wavelength tuning range.
