PROJECT TITLE :

IPFS and Blockchain based Reliability and availability improvement for integrated Rivers’ streamflow data

ABSTRACT:

The collection of data on streamflow using a variety of methods and the dissemination of locations along the river necessitate an improvement in both the reliability and frequency aspects. Data ownership is one of the characteristics that are measured when evaluating reliability. The authority that is responsible for sharing data is the one who authorizes its quality and is also responsible for any incorrect decisions that are made as a result of inaccurate data. The generation of aggregated streamflow records is helped along by the data gleaned from consensus-based crowdsourcing. The streamflow records that have been aggregated are saved on a streamflow ledger, which is a Hyperledger fabric-based ledger for the streamflow data of rivers. On the other hand, the distributed file storage system known as InterPlanery File System (IPFS) is helpful for storing policy documents as well as distribution scheme information. approaches based on Blockchain technology that can improve decision-support systems that rely heavily on data. Scalability, transparency, availability, and accessibility of shareable data are all contributed by distributed river streamflow data that is measured and shared by distributed gauging officials and stored on a Blockchain-based distributed storage system. Every stakeholder needs access to high-quality data that has trust and provenance management built in, preferably in the form of a persistent, linked, and immutable copy. Using this method, the conflict or disagreement that existed regarding the decisions regarding streamflow optimization and flood mitigation is resolved. In a nutshell, the Blockchain technology, when combined with IPFS for off-chain storage of large files, would contribute twice as much to the fields of flood mitigation and irrigation system management. On the one hand, the data aggregation for streamflow has reached a consensus based on the assessment of streamflow for software agents and stakeholders. Second, a content-addressed file-sharing protocol based on IPFS is used to facilitate the sharing of persistent data copies among dispersed stakeholders in order to create a common operating picture. This helps to improve the efficiency of collaboration and coordination between irrigation system managers and those responsible for flood mitigation activities.
