ABSTRACT:

The radiology and surgery worlds want to merge for operations guided by imagery, like mini-invasive procedures (stenting, valve implants, and thus on). Consequently, the present trend is that the hybridization of radiology and surgery rooms. These rooms are said to be hybrid when the operating area combines the features of a standard cardiac surgery operating space with those of a radiology space, thereby linking medical imaging and surgery.
