Implementation and Evaluation of Digital E-Lecture Annotation in Learning Groups to Foster Active Learning PROJECT TITLE :Implementation and Evaluation of Digital E-Lecture Annotation in Learning Groups to Foster Active LearningABSTRACT:The employment of video lectures in distance learning involves the two major problems of searchability and active user participation. During this paper, we tend to promote the implementation and usage of a collaborative academic video annotation functionality to overcome these 2 challenges. Different use cases and necessities, and details of the implementation, are explained. Furthermore, we counsel a lot of enhancements to foster a culture of participation and an algorithm for the extraction of semantic data. Finally, evaluations in the form of user tests and questionnaires in a very MOOC setting are presented. The results of the analysis are promising, as they indicate not solely that students perceive it as helpful, but also that the educational effectiveness increases. The combination of non-public lecture video annotations with a semantic topic map was additionally evaluated positively and will therefore be investigated more, as will the implementation in an exceedingly MOOC context.
