Ensuring Cloud Data Reliability with Minimum Replication by Proactive Replica Checking


Information reliability and storage costs are two primary issues for current Cloud storage systems. To make sure information reliability, the widely used multi-replica (usually 3) replication strategy in current Clouds incurs a huge extra storage consumption, resulting in a very huge storage price for information-intensive applications within the Cloud in explicit. In order to cut back the Cloud storage consumption whereas meeting the information reliability requirement, during this paper we gift a cost-effective information reliability management mechanism named PRCR primarily based on a generalized knowledge reliability model.
