Single-fiber lightwave centralized WDM-OFDMA-PON with colorless optical network units PROJECT TITLE :Single-fiber lightwave centralized WDM-OFDMA-PON with colorless optical network unitsABSTRACT:We tend to propose and experimentally demonstrate a carrier-reuse,single-feeder,wavelength-division-multiplexed, orthogonalfrequency-division-multiple-accesspassiveoptical network (WDM-OFDMA-PON) with colorless direct-detection optical network units and coherent detection optical line terminals. We examine 2 strategies by adjusting the frequency occupancy and therefore the modulation format of the uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) signals. We investigate the impact of the DL signal-to-carrier ratio on the performance of each the UL andDLsignals via simulations and determine impairments limiting system performance. As a proof of concept,we have a tendency to demonstrate on a single wavelength channel a realization of every of the two situations investigated using orthogonal frequency division- multiplexing (OFDM). A quadrature part-shift keying approachwith a large spectrum and a slender guard band achieves 21.half dozen Gb/s.A32-aryquadrature amplitudemodulation approach with a slim spectrum and a good guard band achieves fourteen.5 Gb/s and a span of over eighty km.
