Q-BT: Queue-Based Burst Transmission Over an Asynchronous Duty-Cycle MAC Protocol

ABSTRACT:

During this letter, we have a tendency to tackle the channel competition and hidden terminal issues of asynchronous duty-cycle MAC protocols beneath significant traffic situation. To resolve the problems, we have a tendency to design a queue-primarily based burst transmission MAC protocol (Q-BT), that couples burst (and quick) transmission and asynchronous duty-cycle features together by using queue length data. We have a tendency to evaluate its performance in a multihop testbed, which shows that our proposal improves packet reception ratio and duty-cycle performance by 70.a pair ofp.c and fifty nine.one%, respectively, at a most compared to BoX-MAC (i.e., the default MAC in TinyOS).
