PROJECT TITLE :

A Simplified Implementation Method of $M$ th-Power for Frequency Offset Estimation

ABSTRACT:

A simplified implementation method of th-power is investigated in this letter. Before frequency offset estimation (FOE), the th-power operation is needed to remove the modulated data section. One disadvantage of th-power operation is its giant computational complexity, especially for prime-order modulation systems. In this letter, we propose an occasional complexity methodology to approximately implement the th-power. Within the proposed technique, we apply the absolute operation of real range to the $64000 and imaginary components of received symbols to remove their modulated information phases. In the simulation, the proposed method is compared with the th-power operation in the twenty-GBd quadrature section-shift keying (PSK), 8 PSK, and square-16QAM systems for FOEs. The results show that the proposed method can approximately reach the same performance because the th-power operation, however the complexity is reduced effectively and no multiplier is needed.
