Distributed Fiber Voice Sensor Based on Phase-Sensitive Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry PROJECT TITLE :Distributed Fiber Voice Sensor Based on Phase-Sensitive Optical Time-Domain ReflectometryABSTRACT:A fiber-optic section-sensitive optical time-domain reflectometry ( $varphi$-OTDR) distributed sensing system has been proposed and demonstrated for human-voice detecting and reproducing applications. The fiber strain induced by the voice is ultra tiny (simply some $textnvarepsilon$); so, the amendment of related Rayleigh backscattering light-weight intensity and section are much too small for effective detection based on the traditional fiber $varphi$-OTDR system. Utilizing the flat-packaged fiber design, the strengthened $varphi$-OTDR system shows higher performance with higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) up to thirty five dB. The audio frequency and amplitude response have been investigated. The multiplexing capability of this distributed optical fiber microphone additionally has been proved with one.two-km sensing range and 5-m spatial resolution. Did you like this research project?
