PROJECT TITLE :

SNR Estimation of Time-Frequency Overlapped Signals for Underlay Cognitive Radio

ABSTRACT:

In read of the problem that the single-signal signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation methods are unsuitable for time-frequency overlapped signals in underlay cognitive radio (CR), a completely unique SNR estimation technique for time-frequency overlapped signals is proposed underneath low SNR conditions. During this methodology, the SNR estimation is reworked into normalized power estimation of every signal element through establishing the kurtosis of received signals on the premise of second moments and forth-order moments. The Cramer Rao Sure (CRB) of SNR estimation for time-frequency overlapped signals is also derived during this letter. Simulation results are provided to confirm that the proposed methodology can estimate the SNR of time-frequency overlapped signals effectively in low SNR regions.
