Corner detection using Chebyshev fitting-based continuous curvature estimation


Intensive contour-primarily based corner detection ways are proposed to estimate the curvature of a planar curve and most of them estimated it in digital spaces. However, the curvature ought to be intuitively continuous. Presented could be a novel approach that addresses the corner detection issue by using the Chebyshev polynomial fitting to estimate the curvature in a very continuous way. Experimental results demonstrate that the approach achiever a promising performance in comparison with three representative corner detectors based mostly on discrete curvature estimation and 2 other state-of-the-art methods.
