Timing-Jitter Reduction by Use of a Spectral Filter in a Broadband Femtosecond Fiber Laser

PROJECT TITLE :

Timing-Jitter Reduction by Use of a Spectral Filter in a Broadband Femtosecond Fiber Laser

ABSTRACT:

We have a tendency to demonstrate an experimental reduction of timing jitter in an exceedingly nonlinear-polarization-evolution-based mostly passively mode-locked fiber laser. This laser operates on the stretched pulse regime at 201 MHz repetition rate. By incorporating a correct bandpass filter (BPF) into the cavity, the impact of the BPF on pulse output characteristics is investigated. The timing jitter of the output pulse is reduced considerably from twenty nine.nine to 17.4 fs (each integrated among one kHz–ten MHz) and the total-width at [*fr1]-most is >sixty nm. This high repetition rate, low timing jitter, broadband fiber laser may be an excellent candidate for top-speed, and high-resolution photonic analog-to-digital conversion system.
