PROJECT TITLE :

Prediction unit pruning algorithm for inter-prediction in high-efficiency video coding

ABSTRACT:

Inter-prediction in high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) provides higher coding efficiency at the expense of increased computational complexity compared with previous video coding standards. Presented is an efficient inter-prediction algorithm based mostly on prediction unit pruning to cut back the computational load. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves regarding 11% additional reduction within the inter-mode decision time when applied to a coding unit pruning algorithm.
