AW and THK are the air-conditioning and refrigeration compressors respectively. Shell optimization was performed for better vibration characteristics. (Includes Parametric Modelling of the shell).Modal analysis was carried out to determine the natural frequencies of the compressor shell. The optimized shell has higher natural frequencies, less weight and better heat dissipation characteristics. It is also analyzed for the random vibration response with the changes in the design.
