PROJECT TITLE :

Switchgear in Unusual Environments: Application Guidelines for Assuring System Reliability

ABSTRACT :

With an increased stress on reducing the dimensions of installations, switchgear designers are faced with the diametrically opposed requirements of increasing shortcircuit withstand and continuous current ratings while reducing space for the air that provides both primary insulation and cooling for the energized elements. Using trendy material science, compact integrated dielectric systems will be developed while not compromising the essential features for achieving higher short-circuit withstand and continuous current ratings. IEEE standards outline the same old service conditions for correct equipment installation and additionally supply application tips for these conditions. This text can discuss these tips and define the house owners' and manufacturers' responsibilities to assure system reliability by examining a selected installation and issues experienced.
