Dipole-Coil-Based Wide-Range Inductive Power Transfer Systems for Wireless Sensors

PROJECT TITLE :

Dipole-Coil-Based Wide-Range Inductive Power Transfer Systems for Wireless Sensors

ABSTRACT:

A dipole-coil-primarily based very loosely coupled inductive power transfer system (IPTS) for wireless sensors over a big selection is proposed. The superiority of dipole coils for a protracted-distance power delivery over loop coils with an identical configuration of a sq. core is verified by comparing the magnetizing inductance between primary and secondary coils. Series–parallel resonant circuits were used to realize the next load voltage than that of the series–series theme. Contrary to standard IPTSs or coupled magnetic resonance systems, the quality issue was set as low as a hundred, guaranteeing a frequency tolerance of onepercent, where a prototype of slender dipole coils with a length of two m was used to deliver ten.three W of power up to 7 m away at a coffee frequency of 20 kHz. The powering capabilities of the proposed IPTS were experimentally compared inside and outdoors of a metal container in size at totally different frequencies starting from 20 to one hundred fifty kHz, where the proposed IPTS is highly probably to be surrounded by arbitrary distributed conductors in most wireless sensor usage environments. The coupling coefficient between the first and secondary coils was measured over an extended distance from 2 to 12 m for different secondary coil positions, where is largely much less than zero.01. A comparative analysis of the most amounts of load power among totally different core materials, i.e., 2 ferrite cores and an amorphous core, was conducted in relation to the look of a secondary coil. The results were verified by experiments at a given switching frequency of 20 kHz.
