Grid-connected VSI Protection from Grid-side Faults based on Voltage PROJECT TITLE : Grid-tied VSI Protection against Grid side Faults based on Voltage ABSTRACT: The requirement for dependable and efficient grid-side fault detection and protection of inverters is critical as the use of renewable energy resources grows. For solid-state devices, typical over-current relay safety systems are inadequate since the fault current magnitude is very low. This research examines a voltage-based protection method that includes grid side fault detection and an automatic islanding scheme for a three-phase inverter following a grid fault. Until the grid fault is cleared and VSI is restored to grid-tied mode, the inverter will take care of its own local load and operate in islanded mode. Did you like this research project?
