Overview of the Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) for Improving Power Quality PROJECT TITLE : Overview of Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) for Power Quality Improvement ABSTRACT: In today's world, power quality is a big concern. It has grown increasingly critical, especially with the emergence of complex devices whose performance is highly dependent on power supply quality. To improve voltage quality in a micro-grid, a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) based on photovoltaic (PV) generation/battery units is proposed. A rectifier, which is in series with the point of common coupling, connects the restorer to the grid (PCC). A power quality problem is an incident that results in end-use equipment failure due to nonstandard voltage, current, or frequency. The voltage sag is one of the primary issues addressed here. Custom power devices are utilised to solve this problem. The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is one of these devices, and it is the most efficient and effective modern bespoke power device utilised in power distribution networks. It has several advantages, including a lower cost, a smaller size, and a quick dynamic response to disturbances. This paper discusses power quality issues and provides a description of the Dynamic Voltage Restorer so that student electrical engineers can learn about a modern bespoke power device that can help enhance power quality in the future.
