PROJECT TITLE :
Three Phase Single Stage Isolated Cuk based PFC Converter
ABSTRACT:
Power factor correction (PFC) has been proposed in this study using a three-phase Cuk-based converter. To achieve PFC at ac input, the proposed converter operates in discontinuous output inductor current mode. Further, the current sensing can be avoided by eliminating the inner control loop. This increases the system's reliability and sturdiness. One basic voltage control loop is all that is needed to maintain the output voltage, and all of the power switches are driven by the same gate signal, reducing the gate driver circuit's complexity significantly. Conversion operations and design calculations are explained in full here. The controller design is additionally aided by a small-signal model of the converter that uses the current injected equivalent circuit technique. For this purpose, experimental results from a 2-kW laboratory prototype, which was powered by a 208V line to line input and a 400V output, have been reported. The laboratory prototype has an input power factor of 0.999, an input current total harmonic distortion of 4.06 percent, and a high conversion efficiency of 95.1 percent.
