Design and control of a high power low losses DC-DC converter for mining applications - 2017

ABSTRACT:

This paper proposes a brand new design procedure for a bidirectional dc/dc LCL converter for potential megawatt vary applications, as well as mobile mining equipment. This sort of dc/dc converters use 2 dc/ac converters and a passive LCL filter rather than a ancient high-frequency transformer. The exclusion of the transformer eliminates the core losses, whereas the switching losses are minimized by using soft switching operation. The proposed style method is different from previous publications as it ensures zero reactive power circulation, minimizes the dimensions of the most important capacitor, ensures stable and strong operation, and offers a smart tradeoff between the capacitor size and also the fault current in the converter under a dc fault condition.
