Motivating Human-Enabled Mobile Participation for Data Offloading - 2018
The exploding popularity of mobile devices enables individuals to get pleasure from advantages brought by various attention-grabbing mobile apps. However, the ever-increasing knowledge traffic has exacerbated the congestion on current cellular networks, which ends up in users' dissatisfaction, particularly in crowded areas. Hence, a way to alleviate information traffic in cellular networks becomes a challenging drawback. Traditional ways depend upon mobile offloading techniques to deviate the data traffic originally targeted to cellular networks, like the tiny cell, Wi-Fi, and opportunistic communication. Unfortunately, mobile users still expertise severe congestion when a giant range of users request for knowledge. Facing these challenges, we have a tendency to introduce the concept of mobile participation to assist knowledge offloading by leveraging the mobility of users and also the social options among a group of users. A mobile caching user, who pre-caches a bound amount of contents, can roam around congested areas to participate in content dissemination in order to satisfy users' requests, that is anticipated to benefit each himself and users in the gang simultaneously. To encourage such human-enabled mobile participation for information offloading, a Stackelberg game is deployed with joint considerations on social result and delay result. Primarily based on detailed performance analysis, we tend to demonstrate the feasibility and potency of the proposed approach.
