Image Enhancement With PDEs and Nonconservative Advection Flow Fields

ABSTRACT:

In this paper, we present a new method for enhancing photographs that have been distorted by noise and blur. Iteratively exploiting nonconservative edge-based force fields developed for segmentation to determine both the location and amplitude of the sharpening action is the novelty of our strategy. Edge identification and segmentation can be made easier with the help of the suggested nonconservative shock filter (NCSF), which produces images with substantial discontinuities. Using an anisotropic diffusion equation paired with NCSF is very effective in noisy situations. With the proposed approach in place, iteratively recovered edges can be reconstructed. On the basis of medical transrectal ultrasound and PET imaging, we present processing results.
