PROJECT TITLE :

Fault-Tolerant Architecture for an MPEG-4 Based Video Decoder Driver

ABSTRACT:

This letter describes video driver architecture for an MPEG-4 based video decoder that can tolerate errors caused by faulty data thereby preventing the system from going into an unstable or frozen state. The effects of corrupt data on the performance of single and multi-instance decoder drivers are discussed. The proposed architecture was tested on the multiformat codec driver of an embedded system processor and the results have been documented.
