Design and analysis of a brushless DC motor for applications in robotics PROJECT TITLE :Design and analysis of a brushless DC motor for applications in roboticsABSTRACT :This study presents the planning of a 3-section slotless brushless DC (BLDC) motor to be used as an electromagnetic actuator in robotics. To realize the high torque-to-inertia and torque-to-weight ratios needed for fast response in robotic applications, genetic algorithms (GAs) are used to optimise the initial motor style within a cheap geometry. We examine the machine performance using 3-D finite component analysis (FEA) and validate them by experimental measurement. Did you like this research project?
