Probabilistic Impact of Transportation Electrification on the Loss-of-Life of Distribution Transformers in the Presence of Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic PROJECT TITLE :Probabilistic Impact of Transportation Electrification on the Loss-of-Life of Distribution Transformers in the Presence of Rooftop Solar PhotovoltaicABSTRACT:During this paper, the impact of plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging on distribution transformer overload and loss-of-life (LOL) within the presence of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) is probabilistically quantified. The Monte Carlo (MC) technique is employed to deal with the uncertainties resulting from solar irradiance and temperature in case of solar PV and additionally to emulate the probabilistic facet of PEV charging. Twenty eventualities of various penetration levels of solar PVs and PEVs are thought-about in this work. The results have shown important reduction in proportion LOL thanks to solar PV contribution within the case of all-electric (AE) residential dwellings and hence the transformer replacement could be deferred by nearly four years, whereas it's a minor impact in the case of residential dwellings with gas heat and electric water heaters (WWH).
