Implementation of an Automatic Satellite Image Georeferencing Adjustment Method

ABSTRACT:

Considering the specified human capital specialization and response capability, the studies specialize in monitoring environmental variables generate high needs in the delivery of satellite merchandise. In this study, an automatic georeferencing adjustment technique is implemented in NOAA/AVHRR satellite pictures. This technique is based on the literature experiences and incorporates 2 steps. Initial, the identification and extraction of the input image options, and second the contours optimization. Conjointly, for the step 2, it's proposed a native and a global optimization approach, based on the energy minimization, through the correspondence between the input and reference images. Finally, the results of the proposed and also the supervised method are compared, considering accuracy and speed of convergence. During this comparison, the propped methodology showed to be strong, autonomous and computationally economical.
