A Self-Calibration Technique for On-Chip Precise Clock Generator

ABSTRACT:

This brief presents a self-calibration technique for on-chip precise clock generator employed in the sphere of Power Electronics. In this technique, the operating frequency of the power grid is employed because the frequency reference to eliminate the frequency variation of the clock generator introduced by the fabrication method. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this system, an on-chip relaxation oscillator has been designed, analyzed and verified with a zero.5-$boldsymbolmumboxm$ standard CMOS technology. Measurement results show the oscillator with self-calibration operates at a frequency of regarding 103.7 kHz and draws ninety $boldsymbolmumboxA$ current from a five-V provide. 2.eighty three% $(mathbf3boldsymbolsigma)$ frequency variation is achieved, that is more than three× not up to the one without self-calibration.
