PROJECT TITLE :

Electrocardiographic Systems With Reduced Numbers of Leads—Synthesis of the 12-Lead ECG

ABSTRACT:

Systems with reduced numbers of leads which will synthesize the twelve-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) with an insignificant or a little loss of diagnostic info have been proposed. The advantage over standard twelve-lead ECG systems is the smaller range of measurement sites (i.e., electrodes) and, consequently, fewer wires. In this paper, we tend to review all the important systems with reduced numbers of leads along with the methodology for synthesizing the leads. The fundamental theoretical background necessary to perceive the most important ideas connected to the synthesis is included. The presented theoretical and experimental justifications for the synthesis show that it's not necessary to live a massive variety of leads directly, because the quality 12-lead ECG and arbitrary extra leads will be synthesized. Varied approaches to evaluating the synthesized twelve-lead ECG are defined and explained, and a variety of systems that synthesize twelve-lead ECG are presented as they were introduced within the literature. We have a tendency to cowl the developments and enhancements from the 1940s to this day. The systems are classified on the premise of the synthesis method used, the approach to the evaluation of the synthesized ECG (relying on the measurement sites used), and on the quantity and types of leads utilized. Primarily based on a detailed assessment of state-of-the-art systems, open problems and challenges are highlighted, whereas additional developments of electrocardiographic systems are envisaged.
