Blockchain-Enabled Social Security Services Using Smart Contracts


The current social security system is unable to meet the needs of people in terms of providing transparent, distributed sharing, tamper-proof, traceable, consensus trust, and trustworthy services as a result of the progression of the times. In addition to this, they are centralized, which means that there is only one possible point of control or failure. In this light, we propose a solution that is based on a consortium using Blockchain technology to establish and improve social security informatization in order to meet the challenges outlined above. In this article, we take a closer look at the unique commercial circumstances surrounding three essential aspects of social security. In particular, applications for social insurance, social assistance, and social benefits can all be submitted online. Our proposed solution also provides a multi-party trust and data sharing mechanism, and it also demonstrates the integration of Blockchain and Interplanetary File System (IPFS) storage systems to facilitate the security of approval documents, photos, and videos related to the processing of social security services. These elements are all designed to facilitate the protection of information that is used in the administration of social security services. accessibility and a trail of ownership. In addition to this, it explains how to implement the algorithm in the automatic approval of social security business so as to lessen the workload of the existing manual review and presents the implementation and testing details of the algorithm that are contained within the smart contract. In conclusion, by contrasting our proposed solution with the one that is currently in place, it has been demonstrated that our approach offers significant benefits in the areas of facilitating the online processing of social security business, as well as providing secure access to and full auditability of approval documents, photos, and videos.
