Frequency-Quadrupling Vector mm-Wave Signal Generation by Only One Single-Drive MZM

ABSTRACT:

We have a tendency to propose a unique and a easy theme for photonic frequency-quadrupling vector millimeter-wave (mm-wave) signal generation based mostly on only one single-drive Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM) while not optical filter. Per each our theoretical analysis and experimental demonstration, when the only-drive MZM, driven by a precoded vector radio-frequency (RF) signal, operates at its most transmission purpose and has an acceptable driving voltage, its output is mainly 2 second-order optical subcarriers, and will be heterodyne beat in an exceedingly single-ended photodiode to understand frequency-quadrupling vector mm-wave signal generation.
