Optimal Long-Run Imperfect Maintenance With Asymptotic Virtual Age

ABSTRACT:

We take into account imperfect, periodic preventive maintenance of things with increasing failure rates, and minimal repairs in-between. The imperfect maintenance is performed in accordance with a Kijima II virtual age model. The obtained deterministic asymptotic worth of virtual age defines the beginning age of an item at the beginning of each cycle within the formulated and analyzed long-run optimization downside. A similar approach is used for the corresponding age-primarily based preventive maintenance, where the beginning age of the renewal-sort cycle is already a random variable. Some meaningful examples are thought-about.
