Fountain Code Design for the Y-Network

ABSTRACT:

This paper describes a novel approach for coming up with distributed fountain codes based mostly on polynomial factorization. The proposed approach is employed for the well-known Y-network configuration. The recommended factorization approach is applicable to LT codes and Raptor codes or any alternative fountain code describable with a degree distribution. Simulation results verify the success of this method.
