PROJECT TITLE :

Extending Amdahl’s Law for Heterogeneous Multicore Processor with Consideration of the Overhead of Data Preparation

ABSTRACT:

We tend to extend Amdahl's law by considering the overhead of information preparation (ODP) for multicore systems, and apply it to 3 “traditional” multicore system scenarios (homogeneous symmetric multicore, uneven multicore, and dynamic multicore) and 2 new scenarios (heterogeneous CPU-GPU multicore and dynamic CPU-GPU multicore). It demonstrates that potential innovations in heterogeneous system design are indispensable to decrease ODP.
