Quantum-dot-based integrated non-linear sources PROJECT TITLE :Quantum-dot-based integrated non-linear sourcesABSTRACT:The authors report on the planning and also the preliminary characterisation of two active non-linear sources within the terahertz and near-infrared vary. The former is associated to difference-frequency generation between whispering gallery modes of an AlGaAs microring resonator, whereas the latter is granted by parametric generation in a waveguide via modal part matching. Both devices depend on embedded quantum-dot lasers, which permit for low-threshold currents and unconventional geometries. They additionally embody specific degrees of freedom that open a sensible route towards part matching, either during the lithographic method or during operation. Did you like this research project?
