T20 cricket resource estimation

PROJECT TITLE :

Resource estimation in T20 cricket

ABSTRACT:

While the Duckworth-Lewis technique (originally devised for one-day cricket) has been used in international T20 matches as well as the Indian Premier League, there have been mounting complaints to its use in T20 specifically. The Duckworth-Lewis approach is based on the Duckworth-Lewis resource table, which lists the resources that are still available at different phases of a match. We look at the estimation of an alternate resource table for T20 cricket in this research. The alternative resource table reveals that there are significant changes in scoring patterns between one-day cricket and T20 cricket, casting doubt on the Duckworth-Lewis table's applicability for T20.
