Secure Attribute-Based Signature Scheme With Multiple Authorities for Blockchain in Electronic Health Records Systems

ABSTRACT:

Institutions, rather than individuals, have complete ownership over electronic health records (EHRs), which makes seeking medical advice from multiple hospitals more difficult. Patients must concentrate on the details of their own healthcare and regain control over their medical data. The rapid growth of blockchain technology, which includes medical records and patient-related data, supports population healthcare. This technology gives patients access to electronic health records (EHRs) that are free of charge from service providers and treatment websites. In this research, we describe an attribute-based signature method with various authorities to ensure the authenticity of EHRs contained in blockchain, in which a patient endorses a message according to the attribute while releasing no information other than the fact that he has attested to it. Furthermore, various authorities without a trusted single or central authority generate and disseminate patient public/private keys, avoiding the escrow problem and conforming to the blockchain's distributed data storage method. This protocol prevents collusion attacks from corrupted authority by exchanging the secret pseudorandom function seeds among them. We further formally establish that, in terms of the attribute-unforgeability signer's and perfect privacy, this attribute-based signature scheme is secure in the random oracle model, using the computational bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption. The comparison demonstrates how the suggested method compares to methods proposed in other studies in terms of efficiency and characteristics.
