SOAP-Based vs. RESTful Web Services: A Case Study for Multimedia Conferencing
ABSTRACT :
RESTful Internet services are currently rising as an alternate to SOAP-based Net services and may be a a lot of suitable choice in some cases. A comparison of two Internet programming interfaces - the quality Parlay-X multimedia SOAP-based Web service and a RESTful Net service that offers the identical functionalities - for developing multimedia conferencing applications shows that the RESTful Net interface offers better performance.
