When to Replace Aging Transformers: Guidelines to Replace Older Transformers Before Failure

ABSTRACT :

The aim of this article is to produce information and insight connected to repair or outright replacement of aging transformers containing mineral oil, below fault conditions, such as the production of flamable gases. This article explains how oil sampling, gas analyses, internal inspection, and testing are used to work out that transformers required replacement or straightforward repairs.
