Control of Cascaded DC–DC Converter-Based Hybrid Battery Energy Storage Systems—Part II: Lyapunov Approach

ABSTRACT:

A cascaded dc–dc boost converter is one in all the ways in which to integrate hybrid battery varieties within a grid-tie inverter. Due to the presence of various battery parameters within the system like, state-of-charge and/or capacity, a module-primarily based distributed power sharing strategy might be used. To implement this sharing strategy, the required control reference for each module voltage/current control loop desires to be dynamically varied according to these battery parameters. This may cause stability drawback at intervals the cascaded converters because of relative battery parameter–variations when using the traditional proportional–integral (PI) control approach. This paper proposes a replacement control methodology based on Lyapunov functions to eliminate this issue. The proposed answer provides a global asymptotic stability at a module level avoiding any instability issue because of parameter variations. An in depth analysis and style of the nonlinear management structure is presented underneath the distributed sharing control. At last thorough experimental investigations are shown to prove the effectiveness of the proposed control underneath grid-tie conditions.
