Performance analysis of doubly fed inductiongenerators operating in weak power systems - 2016 PROJECT TITLE : Performance analysis of doubly fed inductiongenerators operating in weak Power Systems - 2016 ABSTRACT: Within the last two decades doubly-fed induction generators have found a large utilization in wind energy conversion systems. Although this sort of generator features a flexible operation and a smart price-performance ratio it is significantly sensitive to grid voltage disturbances and voltage harmonics. This paper 1st presents typical power quality phenomena found in weak electrical Power Systems in that wind farms are frequently connected. The dynamic response and operating performance of the DFIG-based mostly WECS are investigated below severe voltage dips, voltage swells and voltage harmonic distortion and potential mitigation measures proposed in literature are presented.
