In a DC Microgrid, a Compromise Controller Design for Current Sharing and Voltage Regulation

PROJECT TITLE :

Compromised Controller Design for Current Sharing and Voltage Regulation in DC Microgrid

ABSTRACT:

It is easy to see how voltage controller tuning provides a clear and intuitive tradeoff between the opposing objectives of voltage management and current sharing in a DC microgrid. The suggested distributed control technique incorporates a containment-based voltage controller and a consensus-based current controller to achieve a balanced control between the two control objectives. This implies each terminal voltage may be controlled, rather than only the average voltage; at the same time, each converter's current-sharing performance can be managed. Tuning the weightings of controllers can compromise the two goals of either tightly binding voltages or reducing current sharing mistakes. In order to better understand the tuning principle, a large-signal model was built. It is possible to tailor the proposed strategy's performance to meet a wide range of control needs. The proposed approach and compromised tuning have been shown to be effective under resistive loads and constant power loads, as well as dynamic voltage boundary circumstances, using experimental data and comparisons.
